Running and racing

I had another successful run yesterday — only one mile, but no foot pain afterward.  And my quads are feeling much better now.  So this means I’m getting all excited about triathlons again, particularly after a series of bike races that left me feeling burnt out.  I really don’t like road races, and criteriums are just okay — so sometimes I wonder why I do it.  I do have reasons for it, and I do enjoy it at times, but I’m back to thinking that triathlons might make me happier than bike racing.  So we’ll see how the running goes.  If I keep this up, I’m going to have to start swimming …

    I really, really think you’ll love triathlon! Your cycling background will make you very strong, and I think you’ll like the training for the other stuff – and it REALLY is not dangerous or scary compared to that bike-racing stuff!

    Jenny — you’re probably right. I just have to get this running thing down, and of course the swimming …

    Leah — good idea! There is one in late September that is a possibility, but I’ll have to wait and see how the foot does.
